Affiliate marketing is where you link a product or service from Amazon or another store with a special affiliate link that allows you to take a small percentage of the profit when a user clicks on the link and buys the product. It is commonly used on blogs, youtube, instagram, and other social media sites for writers and creators to earn money. If someone is using an affiliate link in their post to sell something, they need to disclose to the user that it is an affiliate link and they are profiting off of it.
Example Affiliate Marketing Disclaimer:
Please keep in mind that we may receive a commission when you click on our links and make a purchase. This, however, has no bearing on our reviews and comparisons.
To begin affiliate marketing with Amazon, go to https://affiliate-program.amazon.com. Amazon is a common place to begin, but there is a rule that you need to sell 3 things within the first 180 days or they will not keep you on there.
Some other good affiliate marketing sites are:
They will have products from places like Target, Best Buy, Sephora…..
They have products from Walmart, Ticketmaster, AirBnB
Blue Apron, Barnes & Noble, Overstock, J.Crew
Another option with affiliate marketing is to reach directly out to companies with products or services you love and see if they are offering any affiliate marketing incentives. The best affiliate marketing gig for you to get is a subscription service (like Netflix), where you are paid every time the customer pays for the item.
Some services I really like (not sure what they offer for affiliate marketing) are:
Flywheel
Hostinger
Canva
Netflix
It is important to only do affiliate marketing with brands and services you actually like or your readers might lose trust in you.
